MASON GRANT - THE ARCHITECT OF DURABLE STYLE

Mason Grant was born into a family of Wyoming ranchers and Montana carpenters. His grandfather taught him how to mend leather saddles that had weathered decades of use; his father showed him how a well-built pair of work jeans could outlast seasons of hard labor. While studying industrial design in Chicago, Mason noticed a gap in men’s fashion: clothing that looked rugged was often poorly constructed, while truly durable workwear lacked thoughtful design for modern life. He believed that by bridging genuine craftsmanship with intentional aesthetics, he could create clothing that was both functionally resilient and inherently stylish.

Mason and his team began a deliberate quest for materials that tell a story through their endurance. They traveled to the American Southwest to source heavyweight selvedge denim woven on vintage shuttle looms, partnered with a 100-year-old tannery in Michigan for oil-rich leather that ages with character, and discovered a family-run mill in Portugal producing brushed canvas that softens with wear. In Japan, they studied indigo dyeing techniques that deepen in hue over time, while in North Carolina, they collaborated with heritage textile mills revitalizing classic American cloth.

Mason established small, focused design studios in Portland, Denver, and Austin — cities where the spirit of the West meets contemporary creativity. Each piece is prototyped and tested in real conditions, from desert trails to urban workshops. “We’re not making costumes,” Mason says. “We’re building honest clothing for men who value where things come from and how they’re made — garments that don’t just look better with age, but become part of your story.”
